Winter Temperatures Caused Pipe To Burst

During a winter storm in February a pipe burst in this Woodstock, Virginia home causing water damage to the basement and garage. The homeowner had been out of town and was unaware that this had occurred.  As a result, secondary mold damage to the home occurred. This picture shows what can happen if a structure is left unmitigated. Mold was found on many surfaces in the basement of this home including the walls and rafters. Mold can begin to grow if the drying process has not started within 48 hours of a water damage. If storm damage impacts your home or commercial facility, please call our crew at SERVPRO of Harrisonburg/Rockingham County at (540) 433-6100. We proudly offer 24-hour emergency service, and we are equipped to deal with any size disaster.
