Hurricane Season Can Cause Major Water and Wind Damage
8/4/2020 (Permalink)
Hurricanes are accompanied by heavy rains and violent winds. Heavy rains can cause flooding, potentially devastating large areas in the path of the hurricane. High sustained winds within the storm can cause widespread damage to structures. The prevailing winds of a hurricane can cause a storm surge (wall of water). If the storm occurs during high tide, it causes beach erosion and inland flooding. Tornadoes can also be a result of a hurricane's high winds.
The extent of hurricane damage depends on the strength of the storm and how it makes contact with the land. It can level everything in its path or do very little damage. If your home or business is affected by water damage or wind damage, we can help.
