Refrigerator Water Lines Can Cause Damage to Your Home
2/4/2021 (Permalink)
Water lines to refrigerators are one of the causes of water damage to your home. Whether the line is to your ice maker or provides water from the refrigerator, either one can fail. One cause of failure is improper installation by not leaving any slack in the water line when it is connected. The slack is necessary so that when you pull out the refrigerator it does not pull on the line. The slack in the line should be rolled up correctly in order to prevent a pinch in the line. A pinch in the line could lead to a leak especially with copper lines.
Refrigerator water lines can either develop a slow leak and not be found for some time or they can “burst” and flood your home. Either one, water damage occurs.
