Emergency Lights and Exit Signs:
When a fire occurs, electrical power to the building could be lost. Even if power is not lost, smoke can make it difficult to find your way out. Emergency lights and lighted exit signs are designed to come on when main power supplies are no longer working. Both the emergency lights and lighted exit signs light up to make it easier for your employees/tenants to find their way out of the building.
Regular inspections of both emergency lights and exits signs should be done on a monthly basis to ensure that they are working properly. The test can be performed by simply pressing the test button on the individual exit signs and emergency lights. If any are found to not perform properly, have them inspected by an electrician.
