11/15/2021 (Permalink)

  • Check the hoses to your appliances: washing machine and dishwasher, be sure to include any faucets
  • Check the water lines: refrigerator ice maker and water heater
  • Check the caulking around your tub, shower, and windows
  • Check your downspouts and gutters
  • Check to make sure that the water drains away from your home or building
  • Check your sump pump (if one is installed)

Upon inspection if you found any damage to your hoses or water lines, have them replaced. If the caulking is damage, you will need to reseal the areas. Make sure that your downspouts and gutters are clear of any debris and/or damage to would allow water to get into your home or building. Make sure that your sump pump is working correctly by pouring water into the pump pit allowing the float to rise and the pump to turn on. Also be sure that after the water is removed, that the pump turns off.
